Wine Itineraries

Lands of Arezzo

Two DOC  areas (Valdichiana and Cortona with the Bianco Vergine di Valdichiana) and a DOCG area characterize this lands.
This lands should be visited for their art treasures  that deserve a particular attention, rather  than for their wines. Besides Arezzo, you should make a stop at Bucine to see the Pieve di Galatrona with the baptisimal font of Luca della Robbia. Then you can proceed to Montevarchi, San Giovanni Valdarno and Castelfranco di Sopra. In the south you can visit Castiglion Fiorentino, the delightful Cortona and on the other side of the valley Lucignano and Monte San Savino rich of beautiful buildings.

Nobile di Montepulciano

Two DOCG (Nobile di Montepulciano and Chianti dei Colli Senesi); three DOC (Rosso di Montepulciano, Bianco Vergine Valdichiana, Vin Santo di Montepulciano). The Nobile wine has its history  in the name: ancient, aristocratic, glorious.
In Montepulciano, besides the city and the monuments, you can admire a magnificent landscape: from the 605 mt. of altitude you can see the Val d’Orcia, the Trasimeno lake and Umbria.
With a detour of a few kilometers you arrive at MonteFollonico, little medieval town that deserves a stop.
