"Dear Sirs, we want to say many thanks again for the two weeks in your beautiful house. The wonderful view around the house, the silence, the clean air and the perfume of the wonderful roses and other plants was a really recovery.
We liked the beautiful countryside, the green forests and the vineyards.
The swimming pool was one of the main attractions for us and mostly for our twins. Also we enjoyed to be alone in a romantic house. We would like to spend our holidays in your comfortable house again. We intend to learn a little bit better your italian so that we can talk to You better.

Where do I start to explain what this week has meant to myself and my family. From the beautiful entrance to the warm welcome from Donna, Carla and Stefano. The pictures of the Villa did not do justice to the beauty and splendour of the Villa. Everyone went above and beyond to make this a wonderful week and helped us to create a spectacular wedding. The villa creates romance for everyone, not just for the bride and groom.

We had an amazing time here. 10 weeks exploring Tuscany, enjoying the Villa, meeting wonderful people, eating like royalty and living in dolce vita.
All of our guests loved il Poggiolino. Six people were able to celebrate their birthday here at the Villa but all 38 will have fabulous memories for a lifetime. Grazie

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tuscany and especially in Villa il Poggiolino. It truly is la Dolce Vita and Tuscany is a perfect picture postcard at every turn. The people, food and wine are all memorable! We will most certainly be back and look forward to returning soon. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. Italy was wonderful! The food, shopping wine, history and the house were amazing. Our second trip to the house, Villa Il Poggiolino, was great. We love Carla, the house would have not been the same without here. On the last day we met the men who took care of the beautiful pool and grounds. We met a friendly kitty named Ryan. We found a wonderful thermal SPA in Rapolano Terme, it is only 20 minutes away. We only wish we could stay longer with Carla, the grounds keeper , the cook and this beautiful house.

Tomorrow morning, at 10 am, we are required to leave this 50 special place in the world , because new residents will be arriving. You lucky new residents!! You ‘ll see… Because I am a proper old woman I need to thank the humans who brought me joy: Fist, second and third I owe it all to my rental agent Emanuela who needed to push me, yes, push me firmly to rent this villa rather than the one I had decided to rent … for thousands of dollars less than this rental. All of you who will be residents in future months and years: know that whatever your total rental this will prove to be the best decision of your trip. Please don’t make the mistake of just using the wonderful old residence.
Especially the downstairs, friendly kitchen. We ended up having three or four dinners there… with a fire in that open fireplace, so special. You need to give yourselves the gift of experiencing these grounds. Walk into the wooded spaces, and marvel at the ancient majestic trees. Notice the roses, really look at the old trees of the olive grove with the new crop bearing limbs growing out from the aged “parent”.Enjoy seeing the vineyards. Did it blow your mind , as it did mine, to have the big gate open the very first time…then drive up the cypress lined driveway to the castle (it felt unreal).
So, on to my thanks: Dear Donna, Emanuela had prepared us to expect a total angel. And you are this. You worked out the small misunderstandings gracefully and to perfection. Thanks so much for cleaning and filling the pool earlier than June “start of the season”. My family loved swimming in the cold water even late night on one occasion, Residents who follow us: be prepared to totally trust and
totally love Donna.
Then there is Carla , another total love (with darling assistant cleaning lady Lucy), who makes everything sparkle. Wondrous how she and I communicated , she speaking no English – my Italian not adequate. We ended up kissing one another each time. I wish we had reserved Stefano for more than our three dinners. Stefano’s dinners are delicious and he is a love. Be sure to take time to walk the ancient streets of Lucignano. I’ll remember them forever. I nned to end my letter to you by telling you I was here with my immediate family, from all over the United States to celebrate my 90th birthday!

We arrived June 3rd to begin the celebration of our great friend Carries’ 50th birthday. 14 people many meeting for the first time , became fast friends and shared the incredible experience of Villa Il Poggiolino If you are extremely lucky you’ll get the third floor room with views to Lucignano and beyond. Every room has charm and comfort. Hire Stefano for a traditional Tuscan meal! Donna is wonderful , she provides everything needed, even building ramps to accommodate Carrie who uses a wheelchair.

Thank you for a most wonderful week in Tuscany – our family loved everything about this magical place. We had really excellent meals (especially in local towns) but our favourite was with Stefano, our marvellous cooking instructor /chef. He was an absolute delight , our children loved making and eating their own pizzas. And never again will gnocchi be a mistery!
We are grateful for Donna’s hints and helpful suggestions that made our stay effortless – she is a gracious and welcoming hostess. We leave il Poggiolino with special memories and an anticipation of a return visit to “bella Toscana”. Ciao!
